Welcome to Ozarks Off-Grid. I’m Captain Pete Gregoire. Originally from Maine, I found my way to Missouri in 2016 due to a job relocation and ultimately to beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, MO where I purchased a significant portion of land (95 acres) in 2019. With a small cabin on the property I enjoyed extremely rustic conditions for the first few years, essentially “roughing it” with no plumbing or electricity except for a generator. This all changed when I installed my first solar array and realized the clean, quiet power that solar provides. Since then, the upgrades have been happening on a regular basis. As these upgrades took place, the notion to share them with you became a primary goal. In 2022, we also purchased a lot on the water that will allow us to build our forever home and permanently move to the area.
As of this writing, I’m putting the finishing touches on a 27-year career in Project Management and Leadership with multiple large national and global companies. I’ll be trading the “business casual” look for the tool belt and jeans look and I’m looking forward to having freedom in my days and to document the journey in a way that I hope you find enjoyable.
Aside from YouTube, I have a passion for the sport of bowfishing and as a Coast Guard licensed Captain, I will be running chartered fishing trips on the lake from early spring to early winter, or as conditions allow. Lake of the Ozarks is teeming with rough fish species and the trips taken have always been productive and extremely enjoyable. To learn more about this service check out ObscureAdventures.com
Through this journey I will be joined by Jody, my wife of 23 years. My son Logan (20) and my daughter Allyson (18) as we navigate this new chapter in our lives. I look forward to their contributions and to sharing these experiences with them.
